More About This Mix
My first attempt at performing Got Milk at Re:Charge’s open deck night left me feeling disappointed. Those CDJ’s are mysterious, and I felt like things could go so much better. I wanted to do it all over again the next time I got to play, but I was worried somebody would notice. So, I decided to make something new that went even further beyond.
People seemed to like how weird Got Milk was; I wanted to put together a set that was even weirder. I also wanted to demonstrate I could do other genres, so it starts with house instead of DnB.
The HYPER4ID refrain adds a flavor of insanity as a climax ending of the DnB section, which then whiplashes into Sonic Rush. It’s then that I throw on a Hawaiian shirt and some sunglasses to record scratch. That actually worked at the last open deck night I was at!
I ran out of time and missed several transitions that night, but it’s after that where I transition into the j-core section, which ends the set with the cataclysmic, “oh my god” inducing QZKago Requiem. t+pazolite’s music video depicts Milk possessed by a demonic joker, which I planned to channel myself on stage. I planned to ‘defeat’ it with a large piece of card-stock with a joker card on one side, and the kanji for ‘seal’ on the other, like Shama does in the music video.
